This story was inspired by Grand Duchess Olga of Russia. Whilst born into a royal heritage and opulent lifestyle, she fled Russia to live a relatively simple, normal life of a farm girl.
To play on this theme of fallen and forgotten opulence, I photographed the fashion story against the enchanting backdrop of London’s Crystal Palace. A location that was once the most prestigious place to be during the Great Exhibition of 1851. Sadly it was destroyed by fire in 1936 and all that is left are the remains of the palace and echoes of lost dreams……..
