Bronzed Decadence

One of the most rewarding things about being an image maker is that inspiration really is abundant and all around us. We just have to be open to it. Being present enough, in the moment, to see and feel it….

Sometimes inspiration can hit you suddenly, demanding our attention to be considered. Other times it can be much more subtle, a mood that evolves from a song lyric, a movie, a book, a painting or an interesting texture, perhaps observed in nature. All it takes is just one single inspiring thing to act as a catalyst for fuelling an entire creative project.

For this project we wanted to create a beauty story of images that were striking, powerful and novel. Inspired by the magnificent eye mask that Pat McGrath’s team created for Rihanna in the dark, dystopian, post apocalyptic W Magazine editorial. Our make up artist – Petr Simon Fridrich, created 4 pairs of custom, one-of-a-kind brow extensions for the editorial.

To compliment these decadent creations, we chose a colour palette of coffee, bronze and copper as our playground- for make-up, model and photography. Ensuring that all our ingredients would mix harmoniously, enabling the brow extensions to effortlessly take centre stage whilst remaining balanced with the whole image.

One single small spark of inspiration, is all that is needed to ignite an unrelenting fire for an entirely new creative journey. To provide a jumping off point from which to forge your own path and produce something altogether new.
